Principal
Susan Charkes has over 20 years of experience in communications and nonprofit management, working with diverse organizational clients in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and elsewhere. She has successfully obtained and renewed numerous grants from private foundations and governmental entities for nonprofit organizations. She is also the author of Best Day Hikes Near Philadelphia (2d ed., AMC Books 2018), The Wild Here and Now (Arboreality Press 2013), and Outdoors With Kids-Philadelphia (AMC Books 2013) and co-editor of Land for Life (Natural Lands Trust, 2014). A graduate of the University of Chicago (BA English), she has also worked as an attorney (JD Columbia University), and in information management (MLS Rutgers University).

Many worthwhile projects do not get done because the sponsors are unable to obtain funding. Arkosic Associates can research available grants, apply for appropriate opportunities and provide management and reporting services for grant recipients.

Arkosic Associates provides research, writing, and editing services: books, articles, newsletters, brochures, websites, catalogs, press releases, presentations and many other formats.
